3) He didnt pay tribute of his general income, he payed tribute of the spoils of the war he was waging
I think you missed the very important part of what you quoted me saying bro: "IF YOU WERE TO STRETCH INTO WRONG CONTEXT".
I was saying that the only way you could even claim 1 witness would be by stretching the passage of scripture out of context.

Interpreting the passage as implying that the receiving of the tithe has been transferred from Melchizedek to Jesus still doesnt cut it, thats my point. Not even remotely so !

GOOD people disagree.. is it impossible for some of you to let it go at that?
There was only one person in this discussion who forgot to use grace when debating. He is out of it now. We are merely discussing with passion what the scriptures declare concerning this doctrine.
Some of us have determined to vehemently oppose all non substantiated man-made religious practices in the church and set people free with the use of God's word put into proper context.
I am not telling anyone what to believe concerning this doctrine. I am however trying to provoke them to do an honest study on their own without the influence of their favorite tithing teacher. Iron sharpens iron. It is good to be able to discuss what we believe and why we believe it. It is called chewing on the meat. Many in the church would rather stick to milk and not touch the meat of God's word. Anyone who considers themselves a mature Christian ought to be able to show why they believe what they believe with proper use of scripture. Unwillingness to do so is why Swordsmanship has diminished in the church today.
Let the warrior arise!

We are in agreement bro. I was just pointing out that the only way one could even imagine that they found one single witness in scripture would be by doing said scripture a great injustice and not properly dividing the Word of God.

My question about the abolishing of the tithe (ref Krystians question) has gone unanswered. Most things in the law havent been abolished specifically. Dietary laws have been, the laws on the various tithes have not been, laws on menstruating women have not been etc. Jesus tells a Pharisee to tithe according to law, he also tells him not to make his phylacteries longer - that is also a matter of the law and that one hasnt been abolished specifically either. But the law and its regulations have been abolished in general, which should be enough. Why single out the laws on the tithes and specifically keep those ?

That's basically saying 'good people disagree, so just let it go.' Hence my post. Anyone that doesn't like a particular discussion doesn't have to get involved if they don't want. And they certainly don't have to put those discussing it down with a condescending post. If this particular discussion isn't your cup of tea, then just don't get involved.
And yes, what I just posted is really how your post came across.
Sorry, Femme, but I don't see how else one could read your post either. It certainly took me with surprise.
