Thread: The refining fire

Today I turned on the television and up popped some Norwegian stand up comedian. He wasnt talking about very much but the spirit of it was continually mockery. While watching this it occurred to me that the whole world is basically like this whenever something is discussed that is supposed to reflect the image and glory of God. So I thought about my decision to not care about who I originally was or was like, whatever that was, but rather just walk with God while disregarding that completely. Not that I was so bad but I sort of choose to identify with the various people who have decided to walk with God instead of whatever it was. Not with their backgrounds but with their fundamental repentance. I came up with the idea that that has to amount to the exact opposite of mockery, regarding the things of God as worth it and sufficiently powerful to overcome whatever all those people originally were or were like. In the midst of this the refining fire was working and I can still feel that fire. A very specific renewal, creating a relative strength, a strength with the capability of pulling the rest towards it. Instead of mockery or callousness, regard. Instead of disregard, faith. Faith in who God is, what he represents and what he intends for the human being. A prayer of 'forgive me for whatever else there has been'.
