Yes, I agree. Personal experience has taught me that I cannot neglect consistent personal fellowship with our Father, and meditating His word daily. I can't go more than a day, at the most two, without spending time with God and/or in the Word. It will surely show in my temperament.
I will feel it the minute some idiot driver cuts me off, causing me nearly drive into a ditch, or the neighbors kids are screaming near my bedroom window early in the morning, to the Christian propping their smelly feet up on the church furniture.
I was told by someone who travels with some of the popular Gospel singers how carnal some of them are. That's a sure sign there's not much time spent in God's presence. They have the gift, but not the spiritual maturity to handle it.
