They pretty much alluded to why he wasn't convicted in the first scene.
I remember very well where I was when I first heard about OJ Simpson. I was in shock and denial. I liked him so much and couldn't imagine he was a murderer. I think a lot of people felt that way at first.
He was a great athlete, but a lousy, abusive husband.
I'll never forget where I was when the verdict was announced and how disappointed I was at the reaction in the African-American community.
