    Forum Problems

Does anyone know why, or is anyone experiencing technical difficulties on LFF besides me? Is it just me?
The post I'm working on will vanish when I hit "submit post" and a little yellow box will appear in the upper left-hand corner saying, Database Error.
This will also happen a few times to me when I attempt just "check in" to see what's happening here at LFF.
Any suggestions or recommendations on how to avoid this technical glitch would be appreciated. Thanks!

AI bots are flooding the site which can take it offline temporarily. Forums are a favorite for AI.

I looked up one thing they do.
AI bots build knowledge bases, understand context and intent, and generate human like responses.

So, these bots are accessing our forum and reading our posts to build knowledge bases and understand context and intent of what we are posting? The bots can't post or interact with us because they are not members of our forum, correct?. AI bots are unwanted interference here and are invading our privacy. Are they able to collect out post's data and store them in some sort of a cloud for others (whomever they are) to access and read our posts? We had no problems with them until they were created by AI.

You pretty much got it Smitty. No, bots cannot interact with us, they are simply crawling all of the posts in the forum to train their LLMs (Large Language Models). Since the forum is Christian and conservative, I doubt they will use any of it but in the meantime, they are like locusts, flooding requests for pages.

I think the only solution is to ban everyone except for members but am not wholly sold on that idea, yet.

    Sorry your post got eaten!
