According to the newest history research, there was a climate change event in 6200 BC. After that, every Indo-European language originates from a language that spread from the Armenian plain in 6100 BC, from a location very close to mount Ararat, which is where Noah landed with the ark. According to the Bible, language didn't diversify until with the account of the tower of Babel. I still find it quite interesting. Just like the mithocondrial Eve, the fact that genetic research determines that we all have a common female ancestor who allegedely lived around 200.000 years ago. Which created quite a stir in the 1990s because researchers thought of us as having descended from random apes all over the world.
