Thread: What are you doing today?

  1. #51
I went to an estate sale today and was surprised that it turned out to be in a house that Henry Ford had built for his brother. I didn't think about it at the time but I should have took pictures of the interior, it was awesome with a lot of the original fixtures.

Here's an article about the house:

nice stuff at that estate sale. I haven't been to any in a while. My last sale I got quite a haul: silverware chest - much needed; small waffle iron (had been on my list for years); Greek cookbooks; and a couple of other things.

Today we went to the chiropractor and grocery shopping. After we got in the car, the family that was coming over tomorrow after church texted and said their youngest was pretty sick and they wouldn't be able to make it.

Life is pretty confined. DH had foot surgery to correct a bunion that he ignored for 10+ years, which was so bad that 2 other toes were involved. He's in his 2nd week of non-weight bearing on that foot, gets pretty tired if he goes out. We have all the things - a knee cart, a walker, crutches, ice packs, shower chair, cast cover for his boot, a wedge pillow to raise up his foot either on the couch or in bed. I even rearranged the entire bedroom so it would be a lot less effort to get to the bathroom. So, in other words, not doing much. DH can't drive either, so he's totally dependent on me.

Sooo, did you buy anything? - If so, post a pic.

Me? I put up my Christmas décor on Friday (I always do it on Black Friday), re-heated T'giving leftovers, and watched the House Hunters Marathon on HGTV last night (LOL)

Bummer about your hubby, I remember you posting about how active he was because of business. Does he still take those trips to China?

Lol... nothing glamorous although they did have really good prices. I did however find a vintage postal scale and an old Rubbermaid 2-gallon watering can in great condition, both for only $3.

There's so much fun to go to even if you don't wind up buying anything, but usually there's something that will catch your eye that's a great bargain.

I like to use this site, just put your ZIP code in and there will usually be something near you.

Well now...considering the recent self isolation orders, care to share what your plans are for today?
