Being Assemblies of God, the A/G publication The Pentecostal Evangel ran a special article on Elvis back about 1993 or so. They published an interview (?) of an A/G pastor where Elvis attented. Elvis often came in off the road needing a pastor. There was evidenced a contrite heart over the meteoric rise to stardom and would confess his sins to the pastor. A very heartwarming article.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Entertainers are called out all the time for their profession but there many professions that could be considered "evil".

Actually, Elvis is no different then me. I was brought up in church starting at a very young age. I was sent to Bible camp every summer throughout my elementary years. So, I was exposed to the gospel at a young age which led me to getting saved as a young teenager at a weekend camping trip sponsored by some Jesus hippies that came out of the early seventies Jesus movement. I was a committed Jesus follower for a couple of years. Then later on, I wavered in my faith, and eventually backslid for a while. God never gave up on me though, and opened doors for me to come back to the Lord such as the prodigal son did. The point is, God watched over me, even in the midst of deliberate sin against Him, yet later on, I came to my senses, repented, and was restored to fellowship with the Lord.

Have I lived a sinless life since that weariness and departer from the Lord many years ago? No! But I have learned that walking out the Christian faith is a lifelong process that leads to maturing in the word of God and becoming more like the Lord Jesus Christ. In my opinion, I don't think I will ever arrive to the point that I can say, "I have learned it all." On the contrary, I will always be growing in my walk with Jesus. I also understand that instant repentance is absolutely necessary if I sin, in word or deed, so as to keep in fellowship with the Lord, and for my prayers to be answered. I can honestly say, I will finally arrive when I pass through the gates of glory and into the literal presence of the Lord Jesus Christ when my journey is completed in this life.

I grew up with Elvis Presley. I saw all his movies throughout my young life. I still have a few favorites on DVD Like "Easy Come, Easy Go, Spin Out, It Happened At The Worlds Fair, (filmed in Seattle 1963 where my aunt Karen shook his hand), and of coarse, Elvis Gospel Music, He Touched Me vol 1 & 2."

I always had a "gut" feeling that Elvis made it to heaven after his death in 1977. As a matter of fact, it has crossed my mind many times of how disappointed I would be if I didn't see him there when it's my turn to leave this earth. Testimonies of people who visited heaven and came back with the report that he was there has only confirmed my thoughts all along that Elvis is in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Another favorite actor of mine was Steve McQueen.
I remember being at Calvary Chapel in 1980 with pastor Wayne Tayor and others as we were praying for Steve's salvation during his battle with cancer.
I also believe I will see Steve McQueen in heaven.
I highly recommend Greg Laurie Presents, "STEVE McQUEEN***American Icon on DVD.
The DVD is available on Amazon.
After viewing this, I think you too will agree that Steve McQueen is in heaven.

We need to remember that celebrities on Earth will not be celebrities in heaven.
