The Word does not return unto Him void so I'm thinking all that experience as a Baptist kicked in near the end because the Word is quick and powerful and sharper than any Buddhist nonsense. Hopefully that truth in her just overwhelmed the junk.

Well whether she did or not, either way she's a believer now.

A dear sister friend of mine posted this yesterday. It served as a reminder to me of how great God's mercy is and that not everything is as it appears. Selah

"Listen; we don't determine who ends up in heaven and hell. YOU DON'T MAKE THAT CALL. I have heard testimony after testimony of people who have had powerful encounters with the true and living God on their deathbed. These people had lived all kinds of different ways; with varying beliefs.

They actually verbalized seeing angels and Jesus at the end. God's mercy is powerful. His mercies are new every morning. I ask God and thank God for mercy everyday.

Jesus Himself said this: Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

I loved this woman, and her story is powerful. Tina Turner really captivated my attention when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s. It was a turbulent and chaotic time in America; and she gave many hope not to give up. She was subjected to a brutal tormentor. She was a survivor. I respected her.

Let her story and life be a motivator for us to respect others, let them experience the love of God coming through us, and meet people right where they are. The impact that we can have on others can be life-changing."

I remember Jesse Duplantis saying in his Close Encounters of the God Kind that one of the people he saw in heaven was John F. Kennedy which was surprising to some because he had such a reputation as a womanizer.

Someone said, I think it was a preacher, "When you get to heaven, there will two surprises". The people that you least expected to be there "will be there".
"And you may be even surprised that you made it there yourself".
God knows a person's life from the beginning to the end. Something that is impossible for us to know. I would not wish for my worst enemy to die lost and end up in hell.
God is just and is no respecter of persons. He see's all and knows all. So VW, I absolutely agree. We can't say, I think they made it and they missed it. I know there are a lot of fruit inspectors out there. But that doesn't give us the right to pass judgment on someone's eternal soul and where they went after death. Tina's no different. My view has always been, I hope they had an encounter with God's Spirit drawing them to Jesus in the closing days of their life. That somehow, they got right with God in time to avoid dying lost. I prayed for my dad for years. He got saved a week before he was killed on the job. Keep praying. Never give up praying for them.

I don't know how credible this story is. A person told me years ago that he was in a meeting and the speaker said that a relative of a friend of his died and came back. It was reported that while this person was in heaven before coming back to earth, well, she said, she saw Elvis Presley there.

I remember that too. I think most of us will be surprised to discover who made it whom we didn't believe would.

I heard a similar story that someone saw Elvis there. It's more believable that some of the others I've heard.

Well in light of this thread, and everything that's been said about not knowing what happened before they died, and how God knows and we don't, etc, etc, etc, why would this sound unusual? Especially in light of the fact we know he loved gospel music, been in pentecostal churches, used to go to churches to listen to the singing and sitting behind a curtain so nobody would know he was there, etc, etc, etc. It's certainly more credible to me than Tina Turner making it who everybody in this thread is talking about, who died a known Buddhist, and saying we can't judge.
