Before Kenyon, Andrew Murray, A. T. Pierson, F. B. Meyer and A. B. Simpson taught those "in Him" truths. JDS was a common teaching among Baptists (and Kenyon was a Free-Will Baptist pastor). I think Kenyon was the first in history to give a detailed teaching on the subject but he certainly is far from the first to ever teach JDS.
I have personally disagreed with Kenyon on tongues, some of his OSAS (I became OSAS because of him but I have later rejected this teaching) and perhaps a few other minor doctrines, but most of Kenyon's stuff has blessed me immensely. Yet, I do not see him as Hagin's primary human resource that ushered in the WoF doctrine.

Exactly...that's why I just could not get all the fuss...it was just gospel to me! It amplified the commitment to the scriptures for me and challenged me to a total real life relationship, something that I had not grasped before but always wanted and thought it should be...

I believe the cultists twists the scriptures to fit their false doctrine, rather than believe Kenyon and others were influenced by cultists. That's just ludicrous.
