One pastor says "I teach. If you want some entertainment go else where."

It is like saying I am doing everything right and all other ministry that is different is a bunch of bull.

I don't see it that way. If the minister is preaching the truth, whether it be in baby spoons or a full plate, I commend him for it. This "I am the only one with the right message method", has got to go. It is divisive.

That is your WARPED and DISTORTED assessment of what I said but since I did not say that or intend that then perhaps you need to learn to stop giving commentary on things you don't know is actually being said.

For those who care to listen, my post was in response to the fact that some pastors feel pressured to perform and to entertain in order to keep their congregations happy. My response to that is that our church teaches God's Word and do not focus on trying to entertain. If people want entertainment and do NOT want the teaching of the Word then they certainly can go to another church that caters to them. I am under no pressure to entertain people.

When the primary objective of a congregation is to attract crowds on Sunday by giving them an "experience" rather than making committed disciples, then they have espoused a culture of entertainment and have been secularized.

Number "8" on AJ's list in another thread is exactly what I was referring to in my post.

There is nothing wrong with getting an experience. If you can't experience it all you have is head knowledge that is devoid of the Power. There are many today that have never experienced what they bloviate. The people today need a true experience of the Power of God. When people have an experience with the Lord it is not entertainment. NO! Instead, it will deepen what they have studied and learned from the Word of God. I believe in study and learning, of course, but if you can't experience the Word without someone yelling "experience is entertainment" then all you have is a dull set of rules for people to follow. You might as well go and study some medieval philosophy_ DULL DULL DULL!
