Thread: Ice Fishing!

    So, and I think i know the answer to this, but is ice fishing because you want to fish and the ice is in the way, or there is just a certain appeal to ice fishing period? Or I guess it could be a combo of both.

    Excellent question. Ice allows you to get right where the fish are and is very nice for those without a boat. And the appeal. There is nothing like hauling fish up on the ice. Big fish.

    I hadn't thought about not needing a boat to get exactly where the fish are.

    And once you're set up, you wait for the fish to come in. It's the ultimate in still fishing. There really is a special thrill being out on the ice. When using technology like an underwater camera it really changes the game. Seeing the big yellow eyes of a big pike slowly drift into view is just thrilling.
