Democrats Won't Let Mayra Flores Into Congressional Hispanic Caucus

Earlier this month, Mayra Flores, a Republican congresswoman applied to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, which has been comprised entirely of Democrats ever since 2003. Despite all their talk about diversity and acceptance, she was denied access.

This is made worse by the fact that Flores is the first ever Mexican-born woman to have made it into Congress and is also representing a border district, making her a perfect fit for the group.

Blocked from entering by Democrats in the state

Unfortunately, the Democrats are as hypocritical as they come; their blocking Flores from entering the group is just another telltale sign of their bias against conservative Latinos and Latinas.

Flores initially chose to join the caucus because she believed it would serve as a constructive way of bridging the gap and working together for the Latino communities in Texas, but that's clearly not the top priority for the Democrats.

Inclusion is a two-way street. Flores' political affiliation has nothing to do with her heritage and what she'd be bringing to the table, had she been accepted to the group. In spite of all that, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus issued a statement detailing why Flores was rejected.

As it stands, the caucus is no longer a bipartisan group. Its GOP members decided to split off and form the Congressional Hispanic Conference in 2003, led by Diaz Balart. While Flores is still eligible to join the conference, the group is significantly smaller and less influential.

Mayra Flores isn't the first to be denied access

Additionally, the CHC labels Flores as an "Extreme MAGA supporter," even though she never defended those involved in the January 6th protests, which the group believes were an attack on both Latinos and the democracy in the US.

The CHC was originally founded in 1976 as a bipartisan group. It quickly started to dissolve during the Cuban missile crisis, with the two sides splitting in 2003 when former President George W. Bush appointed Miguel Estrada to the DC Court of Appeals.

Flores isn't the first conservative Latino to apply to the CHC and get denied. It's been only five years since former Florida Rep. Carlos Curbelo applied, only to be turned down even after he'd left a great impression on some of the members.

This is nothing new from the Democrats though. They practically invented this horribly racist approach to politics, promoting diversity and inclusion only when it's for the sake of political betterment, rather than prioritizing it for the people they "fight" for.

Despite all their efforts to promote woke ideology, Democrats often tend to circle back in on themselves, becoming worse than those they're opposing and promoting concepts that wouldn't fly if the roles were reversed.

Thankfully, they might not be able to keep it up for much longer. The midterms are only a week away, at this point; some major changes are coming once the GOP takes the majority of the House seats.
