    Surprises in Old Books

I occasionally like to go to estate sales and apparently I picked up a couple of old books at one a year or so ago. I kind of remember thumbing through them and then setting them aside for another time.

I don't know how I missed this the first time I thumbed through one of the books but it was a nice surprise. Seems I can't straighten the photo but you get the idea of what was in it.

Lol...my next thought of was of Bookman. He used to post about how he went to thrift stores and bought a lot of old books. So Bookie, share with us the surprises you have found in them.

My sister in law found about $800 in books at my mother in laws bookshelf when they cleaned out the house. They took that as their "pay" for all the work they had been doing. I think they used to to take everyone out to eat.

You can still get $2 bills at the bank.

I also found a $2 bill in a book I paid 50 cents for. The oddest thing was a slice of bacon used as a bookmark. It was so long ago I don't remember if it was cooked or raw! I once went to a library sale where the books were $1 a bag. I filled the bag and after counting, figured each book cost me about 5 cents. Sold one of those books for $100.
