The men wear beards and dress plain.
The Mennonites, as far as I know, are a very diverse and decentralized congregation, with individual churches free to set their own qualifications for membership and pastors. You may be thinking of "Old Order Amish", who wear traditional clothing and eschew modern technology. My understanding is that the original Amish separated into "Old Order Amish" and "Amish Mennonite", with the latter eventually being referred to simply as Mennonite.
Mennonites (again, as far as I know) generally believe in adult baptism, non-violence (specifically no participation in the military), and economic sharing. I believe they generally avoid involvement in politics. Like many other Protestant denominations, they seem to be experiencing increasingly divergent views on issues such as divorce and same-sex marriage.

Makes me want to do an in-depth study.
I guess I had some misconceptions about them.
I always thought Mennonites were similar to Amish except they drove cars and used electricity.
