Did you enjoy it before you knew that? Maybe he was just showing off his survival and good provider skills to you.

My dh hit deer on three separate occasions while we lived in NC! Of course, he went to work at 2:30AM every night and drove about 15 miles on a country highway for 16 years.

My husband puts on, and has for his 40 years in the oil fields, over 100 miles a day, and often more, which includes dawn and dusk driving and has never hit a deer. And we've lived in the country all these years so drive at all hours and none of our kids or us have hit deer or any wildlife other than gophers... maybe the odd porcupine, hard to remember.
So your husband has been very unfortunate in his odds! I hope he wasn't hurt!

No, he wasn't. And we've always carried full coverage insurance so we were covered for the damages. Thanks A.J.

Every time I drive out to my Mother's house (in the boonies of NC) after dark I drive slower, and keep looking to the shoulders constantly to check for deer. I have seen SO many deer...and had so many near collisions that it makes you kinda paranoid.
