What is forgiveness really? Ceasing demand for restitution? A "sense" or feeling that we are or OK with a situation/person?

Is it just a transaction as in literally forgiving a debt? I don't know how much feelings play into that equation.
Amen. It was some 35 years ago on a Detroit radio station interviewing Gene Hackman being asked the secret for his crazy success in being a movie star. He gave that simple reply, "I learned to let my parents off the hook". As a young pastor I was impressed in no small way. It's a good way to live. For many it ecomes too complicated than it needs to be.
