    Snowplow driver fired after 18 people injured, 55 vehicles damaged on Ohio Turnpike

    ERIE COUNTY, Ohio – A snowplow driver has been fired after his plow threw snow and slush onto the opposite side of the Ohio Turnpike near Sandusky, damaging 55 vehicles, according to a statement from the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission.

    The driver was placed on administrative leave after the Jan. 23 incident in Erie County. He had a pre-disciplinary hearing Feb. 4, and was served a termination letter on Tuesday, the statement says...

    That turnpike can be wild in snowy conditions. Years ago my brother was rear-ended by a plow which totally buried his van on the roadside. He had to dig out and walk to the nearest town.

    It was a blizzard, I doubt the driver even saw him.

    Holeee Moleee... I've never seen anything like that, in all my years on snowy roads!!!

    There was one time a few years ago, on my way to church, I was in the right lane on the hiway, the snow plow was in the left and some guy tried to go flying by me in the left lane, not realizing the snow plow was there... he must have thought I was following the plow. There's such a huge cloud of swirling snow behind the plow, it's hard to tell which lane it's in. I believe angels intervened and he swung in, in front of me, barely missing the plow and me. It was an extremely tight squeeze but it was definitely a come to Jesus moment.

    Plow drivers are a hoot. This driver wants to not work there anymore.
