    Supermarket hamburger prices

Seems like everything has gone up somewhat in price at the supermarket but a few things skyrocketed. In my area at least hamburger prices really went up. What are they like in your area?

We butcher our own beef. Just put a fresh half in the freezer last week.

I work with my brother Lyal who owns and operates Meat Monkey bulk meat distributors. He started the biz on a dream last May and I joined him. I get 10# tubes of 80/20 for ridiculously low prices. I'll bring a tube home for 35.00 or less. Our locals drive from miles around to save. NY Strip for 5.99# when you buy the packaged loin (10-20lbs).

The grocer is sometimes 4th to handle it and they have the larger markup. It's outrageous.

I bought 85% hamburger on sale for $3.99 lb. Regular $5.99 lb. I bought a NY Strip for $7.99 lb on sale. I used to buy 2 steaks, now Jim and I share one. It's not that I don't have the money, it's that I refuse to spend it.
