Nobody is put on a vent because he has covid.
Vents are used because of the symptoms patients show.
I don't know if you were there when someone died of suffocation. It takes a lot of inner strength to stay by the patient and endure it with him. Here we believe that if there is a prospect of healing, it makes sense to avoid suffocation or to bridge the time until the body can breathe in enough oxygen again.
If you want to kill a patient there are many cheaper and quicker ways to do it.
