    Bought My Dream Handgun

Today I purchased my first handgun, one that I have wanted since a little boy, a 1911 frame .45acp. Being more revolver oriented, the semi-auto 1911 G.I. Has me fumbling around just a wee bit. Lots of fun, fits my hand and brings back warm memories of my dad giving me his tips on hand hold and trigger squeeze. Nearest range is 15min away. Time too pop some caps.

Yes. Of course, they were hand me downs from the Army so they were what we called "serviceable", code for "beat up", they rattled a bit when you shook them so I did manage to qualify with the pistol as sharpshooter, I think, had the weapons been as nice as yours I would have qualified expert (always did that with a rifle).

    They are show stoppers.

Yup, kinda figured you were checked out on these. Those Colt GI’s are crazy expensive. Timeless design, proven in combat. There is no other choice for me. This will go along on hunts in the swamp.

With all the wildlife in your neighborhood, I'd probably take it with me full time.

I pretty much came to that conclusion and especially if riding the mountain bike. If dogs chase bikes, what keeps a wolf from doing the same.

I think the Army's theory was that if they are a little loose, then the sand and harsh environments we faced in WWI and WWII didn't shut them down as easy.
