Thread: Fishing!

We are camping in Cheboygan with great choices to fish. We are on lake Huron, can actually see The Bridge from over here. Cheboygan river is a large waterway that flows from Black lake and Mullet lake dumping into lake Huron. This place has big fish. Ended the first of 4 nights on the river. Very active night but only smaller fish. Caught 2 pike, 2 bass and two perch. Mostly trolling to cover water and see what's happenin'

I shamelessly admit to times in the past laughing and teasing others about their stories of the big one that got away. Until last night.

That lunker bass came out of the water with a tail dance and shook the hook right back at me. No pics on that one. This was big enough that it's the kind you weigh and measure. Back at it tonight.

Here is the local lake (my favorite) I fished last night. This is the beauty of the north we up here are blessed to live in.

Fished Susan lake, a lake I have previously been unsuccessful at catching. So I hit the lilly pads with professional flair and quickly brought in 3 largemouth bass with the 4th (the biggest) getting off the hook at boatside.

Lately I've been out on Deer Lake trolling until late. Tonite I put in at 8:30 and trolled until 10:30pm. The bite was on and with a fury. Last two nights the lake was just crazy. Tonight, 10 bass, 1 pike and 1 walleye. All were released except for the walleye...yum. The fish pounded that lure for an hour and it just quit. One fun night. Actually two nights, Saturday and tonight have been crazy fun. Night fishing is a riot!

My 14yr old grandson is spending the week with us. We are getting after the fish and tonight they were hitting hard with an approaching cold front. We caught 3 bass immediately on the troll. Wind forecast said it was going to be a calm sunset. Then the squall came in hard and fast. Boats were making a mad dash off the lake. Huge disappointment. Anyways, a little vid just before the worst hit...

I guess this is the thread your ice fishing posts were in. We were watching Scott McGillivray on his program Vacation House Rules or something like that, and they were doing one on a big lake or river. It was frozen over and he took the owners ice fishing. Scott caught a huge large mouth bass. Unless it was staged.
