Fishing the night is really a spooky kind of cool. Aquatic behavior comes alive when it's dark. Big fish are caught and little ones hide. Each night when I come back to the launch I shine my light into the dark shallows to see the "rough" (re:weird) fish. Tonight I saw my first longnose gar patrolling the shallows. What a cool fish.
Here is an internet pic. They get scary huge but the one I saw tonight was small.

Ok here we go. Temps are dropping like a rock. On my sonar I watch big pike just laying like a lazy lump on the bottom because of the warm water temps affecting their metabolism. Right now, 70deg water at the surface of our lakes. When these nights bottom out in the 30s and 40s, hang on. The big girls are going to move and get very active.
This past week was a good one. I'll post pics of the catches. Got out twice and fished the local lake 4mi from our house in Boyne. Tonight I'm going a distance to fish another favorite lake.

Have you seen this...guys cheating in a fishing competition. That is low behaviour
He was lucky to not get physically attacked by the other fisherman as they were wild
Pro-fishing world rocked by alleged cheating scandal
That incident has lit up our fishing community locally and nationwide. Everybody wonders how they got away without winding up in the hospital or protective custody.

Uh...
The fishy incident felt reminiscent of a recent scandal shaking up the competitive chess world, when wild allegations surfaced that a player was using vibrating anal beads to receive illicit help to win.
