Was Satan perfect or a murderer from the beginning?

How do you reconcile these two verses?

Ezekiel 28:15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

He was "perfect" when created, "until" iniquity was found in him. John says he "abode" not in the truth, or he didn't remain in it. When John says "from the beginning, he's referring to Genesis. Other scriptures talk about his place in heaven before his fall. He certainly didn't serve in heavens court as the father of lies, and a murderer. So, he was perfect when created, but became what he is now through his own pride, and not by God's design.

Beginning = day 1 in Genesis 1. The beginning of our creation, not of all of existence. The angels could have existed in heaven for any number of years prior to that.

"From the beginning" is often a reference to the creation (or "restoration" if you are a Genesis 1:1-2 gapper like me) in Genesis chapters 1 and 2.

For example, Jesus told the Pharisees why Moses law concerning divorce was only a provision and not God's perfect will, He said,

"And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female .... He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so." (Matthew 19:4, 8)

Thank you all. I had never done a study on that so I did not know 'the beginning' was a reference to the creation in Genesis.
