I heard a guy say one time, I think this was in NC so it may be different by state (he was telling us this in a real estate class lol), is that if you are pulled over, you put both your hands on the wheel as he's walking up, and they state that you have a concealed carry and there is a gun in the car, where it is, etc.

I keep wallet and DL/CPL cards very accessible so I can have them in hand while my hands are on the wheel. The .45 is also on the console and visible. Vehicle docs are clipped together in the console so I don't have to shuffle through stuff. Overall, the police here enjoy seeing CPL's carry. They know we are the good guys.

Prices are coming down as the availability has improved. The 45auto is around 35.00 for a box of 50. Of course, 9mm is cheaper. The real shortage now is reloading components. Primers were crazy scarce. Bullets are steady but powder is ridiculous. I've paid ridiculous prices recently for hazmat shipping plus inflated prices...but it is nice to find it. As a loader you just can't stay with one powder because availability is dicey at best.

It's been an adventure getting set up to handload for the M-1 Carbine the past few months. Research on load data to tracking down bullets, powder and primers has as always been fascinating. Best part is lighting off a 15rd magazine at the gun range. It's been a mild winter for shooting. We have a great range culture here. I may have to get involved a bit more, like attending membership meetings.

During the Obama years, I heard that the Government was buying up all the ammunition so that the public wouldn't get it. Considering I believe this is the third Obama term, could that be happening again?

Very possible but there is no proof...only hearsay to stir up trouble. Ammo is available and doubled in price over Biden's term. The better speculation lies within our own camp...hoarding. Shooters, hunters, bunker preppers, these will suck up supplies so quickly that ammo manufacturers can't keep up.
Another thought is the growing groundswell of concealed carry folks. Having been through it and seeing handgun rookies (which I applaud) buy up thousands of rounds their grandkids will own. Michigan is quickly closing in on a million CPL's. That's a real good thing but also has a demand on handgun cartridges.

I think hoarding is definitely happening... what with the invasion of our country from our southern border, I think many see that as a ticking time bomb. With this being the election year, we are definitely expecting "issues" to arise.
A million CPLs in Michigan! Wow! That's like 1 in 8 people have a CPL. Now whether they are actively carrying is another thing. I have a CPL, but I am not actively carrying; some women's clothing presents real problems in concealing. I'm not about to strap a gun to my thigh when I'm wearing a dress.

The illegals flooding in and with our state having borders it really is a matter of time. Up here, many are ready. What we are not ready for is a massive meltdown culturally when infrastructure fails in power grid, food, etc. that is where a lot of ammo is being snapped up...we know this is also coming.

Good explanation. Sometimes the simple answer is the best answer.

There is no ammo shortage at: trueshotammo.com
This is where I get all my ammo for great prices. Check them out. They have 1000 rounds of 9mm FMC 115 grain for $209.99. Any ammo you need, they ship it to your home. Accept California! A recent liberal judge banned ammo from being shipped to a private residence. All ammo orders must go to an FFL establishment for pick up if ordered by mail. Gov. Newsom and his anti-second amendment cronies tried to pass a bill recently to require background checks every time a CA citizen wanted to purchase a box of ammo. California residents escaped this attempted new hardship on law abiding gun owners because a federal judge struck the down the bill.
