Garden center shortages
For the gardeners here were you able to find all the plants you wanted this year whether they be flowers or veggies? Seems its similar to last year where demand is exceeding supply.
I found most of what I wanted but it was because I started shopping for plants earlier in the month, and even then some varieties of tomatoes and some flowers like lobelias were already gone.

Cedar shrubs (30" size) were not overly plentiful and finding healthy ones was a bit thin.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
I think the lock downs forced people into gardening, remodeling, etc.

I haven't had any issues. But I plant a lot of veggies from seed.
I have noticed that sometimes when what you want isn't in stock, sometimes it means that it hasn't arrived yet. I found that with zinnias. I love these because they are drought and heat tolerant. However at one of my favorite nurseries, they were waiting on another shipment. I've seen lots of tomatoes and got my Marzano Roma Tomato plants. Hoping for a better harvest than last year!

Yes, we've noticed it. One friend who owns a nursery can't get enough stock. One of his checkers says that she just rings up sales all day, almost non-stop.

This is from one of the largest nurseries in the area, they were already sold out a week before Memorial Day.

I made the rounds at the nurseries today, same thing just like last year....more shortages.

I can't believe that a place like Block's sold out (I know that's last year's post). I find that English Gardens in SE Michigan has shipments coming in weekly - even into June. Seeds are going to be the way to go, although this year I purchased a couple of tomato plants and peppers (Poblano and jalapeno). The rest I sowed seed.
