That brings back memories because it was huge news in Australia and especially my state as NASA somehow programmed it to crash in the outback. We were all told about it and because our state is mostly desert it was considered safe so NASA could retrieve the wreckage. Many were prepared and wanted to be the first to find where it landed

That is really interesting. I had to laugh at the space fact where they said China targeted one of their own weather satellites with a new space weapon and hit it...creating even more debris/waste.
