It's not a privilege. It's not anything. It's just a privilege in general to be generous. It's just giving 10% of your money. It doesn't really mean anything. Giving 9% or giving 11% is no different. It's just giving under the NT. No special blessings attached. God doesn't rebuke the devourer. We now have been given authority they didn't have over the devil to rebuke him ourselves. No windows of heaven opened. Jesus opened the windows of heaven for us permanently with His death, burial and resurrection. All things are ours now. We are a part of the family. It's all our inheritance. No magic formulas. Just be generous and walk by faith. It's about as simple as it gets.

Do you mean when we first moved the forum or did something happen today? Can you elaborate if you mean today?

    The tithe is simple obedience.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, but not to leave the other undone. Matt 23:23

These are the words of Jesus, who is the Eternal Son of God and belongs to all dispensations of time. He cannot be limited to Old Testament or to New Testament.

Also, it is true that the windows of heaven are open to the OBEDIENT child of God. However, not to the disobedient. The disobedient are not in a position to receive God's blessings to the extent that the obedient are. God's promises are true and the windows are open to all God's family But it is not the promises that change. It is US that change. We are the ones who by our obedience or surrender move away from or we move in line with the Word of God. The more you walk according to the Word, the more you are moving in the position to receive. I am glad that I am a tither. I have the Word to back me up.

By being obedient for the sake of appearance and not for the sake of expressing love and worship for the Father..just as they did.

Jesus also criticized their praying at times and we know He was not opposed to prayer either...it was the condition of their hearts...It's not just obedience..it's what we do and why we do it that God gives attention to.
