It is heartbreaking, but also very telling...
First about the pastor.
Second about the congregation/followers of Christ.
I am watching three churches all within one mile of my home. None are having in person services... at all.
- The Presbyterians are holding livestreamed services where about 4-5 people on the platform are separated by at least six feet, yet most are still wearing masks. Views per video are about 50-60.
- The Methodists with the grand building and steeple and the Detroit name (yet relocated about 20 miles away in the suburbs now), are limping along at 40 or so views on their livestream services. I can't even get through the opening of singers, socially distanced, but singing with their masks on. This is the church that proudly states BLM and open to the alphabet-blender people, but haven't opened their doors in the past 11 months.
- The final contestant in who will close their doors for good is a Baptist church. 60-ish views, and definitely no activity at the building beyond a couple of cars.
It's sad, but I believe this time is exposing what is already there in these churches.
