Some pray for revival, which of course I am supportive of, but God has already sent revival again and again, and most every time man/flesh gets in and ruins it. God will never force revival on the church. He will not "stuff" His precious Holy Spirit down the proverbial throats of the lukewarm who gloat over worldly entertainment on the platform .
I feel the church is ready for His coming NOW. Yet the visible church is so full of tares, ie. christian look alikes, that we keep misjudging it and thinking it is asleep. If you talk to the true church you will soon know that they ARE close to God in their relationship, and their lamps ARE trimmed and burning. However, in too many cases, the tares have taken over the church and the church appears devoid of the Spirit, filled with man-made enthusiasm, feel good meetings and programs.
Jesus is coming soon, at any time, He is even at the door. God's true church is ready.

    Just my 2 cents

I think you may be right, Nikos. There is a tendency lately to keep saying "if the church would just wake up and do the Chronicles thing, it would all be fixed". The wheat and tares have to grow up together so the wheat won't be damaged by plucking out the tares Scripture doesn't say anything about tares turning into wheat. A seed produces after it's kind. The church looks to still have spots and wrinkles because we see the tares mixed in. Just my .02.

I want to add my 2 cents on the subject of white privilege. Growing up, my family was always hard working. When I went to work in the school district, I went in as a 3rd generation employee. This did not help me. Being white in custodial, I had to work twice as hard, even though my Mom was a supervisor and well respected. I was discriminated against by supervisors, and when I reported it, I was told I was being manipulative. I fought hard to become the 1st white male supervisor in over 30 years in the district, up until I lost my position due to injury.

15 years ago, I was part of a predominantly black church in a predominantly black part of Houston. I was involved in an accident one night, and both the cops and a black pastor, not one I was associated with told me that because I was white, I did not belong on that side of town. Yes, I was told because I was white I was not supposed to be in the so-called black side of the tracks.

The point is this. White privilege is a lie. Some might, but as you can see other races also have their own. Racism in any form is a sin, and has nothing in the Kingdom. All I see, even to this day, and for the rest of my life is various beautiful cultures, but only one distinction: Either in Christ or in need of Him. Nothing else. Anything else is a bold faced lie from the pits of Hell.

Brother, I agree with a big amen. Pastors need to be aware of those tares. There are those Paul called "false brethren" (2 Cor 11:26). Some are bitter and love to defile others, those I have called "joy suckers". You hear them coming 2 blocks away, sounding like a worn out shop vac wanting to suck the joy right out of you. Then, there are witches that have plopped themselves (male and female) down in the pew trying their best to stop the preaching of the gospel in it's authority. None of this is new or increased, it's the same ole same ole in every congregation.

Right now, I think we need a move, a revival of repentance and discernment when it comes to the Kingdom. We also could use some church discipline, in that we sit down people who refuse to repent. We could use a good house cleaning in the Kingdom, discerning the real from the fake. Just my thoughts.

From what you have posted so far I would think the major culprit is discipline which the education system can't fix . Only rebuilding the black family can fix . No ?
I wish I had the answers....if I did, I'd make a platform and speak it loud and long.

I think we can all agree that the present system isn't working. While we're making all the changes due to Covid, maybe school systems need to look at what other changes can be made. I see so many students show up in my classroom that WANT to learn, but they're playing catch up when it comes to writing ability and vocabulary knowledge. Let me stress that I'm not blaming the teachers, I'm blaming the system. it's all very sad to me.

As far as "white privilege" and the problem of race in our schools, I agree with Listra that the blame does not lie with the teachers. IMO, it is caused by lack of opportunity. Not only lack of opportunity for the student, but for their parents, and in a broader sense their families. An industrious student can achieve through hard work and being unwilling to settle for the status quo. That takes vision! But most don't have that foresight and give up along the way.

    I hear you ..
Used to work in the public schools too and it was always so sad seeing kids with promise and intent being held back by the troublemakers . That's why I am a big advocate of the voucher system
