It is crazy for sure. With 3 women in the house I was sent on a mission Saturday when I picked up our grocery order (which was short many items, like TP and burger.) I hit a few stores in search of the elusive TP. Family fare had six packs of TP, limit 2 per customer and it added up to $1 per roll and they were small rolls. Then I decided to hit Dollar General on the way out of town and BINGO! The gal was just unpacking a few cases of our preferred brand. I asked if it was o.k. to take 2 packs and she said "Take as many as you want, I don't care." I only took 2. Someone else might desire a clean hiney too!

To me, what this madness indicates is:
a) We aren't very good at relative risk assessment.
b) We can be easily manipulated.
c) We're prone to panic.
d) In the face of panic, we're prone to selfish hoarding.

That's a bingo.
Back in pre-corona-madness I was speaking with a visitor after a worship night at church. The topic was his house church group and my church planting, house church efforts. One point of discussion we both felt urgency with was the topic of a coming national crisis, church buildings closing, and our frail, dainty culture we presently live in. And now it's happening 7 weeks later.
