It sounds more like a political statement than submitting to Christ and I only watched half. I assumed it wasn't going to get any better. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I read most of the transcript and skimmed the last quarter. It didn't get any better.

One of the names in support:
The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, Presiding Bishop and Primate, The Episcopal Church

There was a long list of people who were in support of the "reclaiming of the name of Jesus". The list is found at the end of the transcript. Curry is the man who gave the sermon at the royal wedding last week. He holds the listed title in the American Episcopal Church. (Presiding Bishop and Primate)

"Most reverend" is a bit much and "primate" doesn't look good unless he's an outspoken evolutionist. Even a theistic evolutionist would probably skip referring to himself as that.

This reminds me of the account in Acts 19. They thought they could use the Name without relationship and surrender. They had a surprise awaiting.

What we are seeing is the arising of the counterfeit antichrist spirit of the last days.

    Colonel

More than one meaning to a word

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primate_(bishop)

Primate (English: /ˈpraɪmət/) is a title or rank bestowed on some archbishops in certain Christian churches. Depending on the particular tradition, it can denote either jurisdictional authority (title of authority) or (usually) ceremonial precedence (title of honour).

I understand that. The entire title seems more than a bit pompous when added up though.
