The View' star Joy Behar mocks Mike Pence's Christian faith: 'That's called mental illness

I heard this last night. Shocking!

The women of ABC News' “The View” took a shot a Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith on Tuesday, mocking the former governor of Indiana for talking to Jesus and even calling it a “mental illness.”

It all started when they played a clip from “Celebrity Big Brother,” in which former White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman discussed the vice president.

“As bad as you think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence… everyone that is wishing for impeachment might want to reconsider their life,” she said in the clip. “I am Christian, I love Jesus, but he thinks Jesus tells him to say things.”

The talk-show panelists pondered what Omarosa’s motive was, before Sunny Hostin chimed in, “I think what’s interesting is that she said Jesus tells Mike Pence things to say.”

Hostin declared that Pence is a “hated figure” in Indiana, claiming she knows firsthand because she attended law school in the state.

“He’s not very popular at all,” she said. “I think when you have a Mike Pence who now sort of puts this religious veneer on things and calls people ‘values voters,’ I think we’re in a dangerous situation.”

Hostin said she is a “faithful” Catholic but doesn’t want her vice president “speaking in tongues.”

Joy Behar then said: “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you.”

Behar said hearing voices is a “mental illness” before Sherri Shepard offered a limited defense of Pence.

“As a Christian, that’s just par for the course,” Shepard said “You talk to Jesus, Jesus talks back. What concerns me is, how long is the conversation with Jesus?”

Behar, an ABC News star, uncomfortably joked, “Can he talk to Mary Magdalene without his wife in the room?”

Shepard then said that the key is “moderation” and anything that is “too much” is concerning.

“Do we want our politics served to us with a religious veneer over them?” Hostin asked. “This administration is not a values-driven administration.”

    2 Peter 3:3

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts...

    Read about this ignorance yesterday.

What’s scarier is that the “Christians” on the panel aren’t upset that she called a fellow brother in Christ mentally ill.

As if Christ speaking to His people is something to be mocked or strange. If anyone is mentally ill it’s Joy and Whoopie. And Hostin’s remark about the VP speaking in tongues is close to blasphemy. But being Catholic, she has no clue or she’d be glad that we’d have a Spirit-filled, tongue-talking VP! smh

So tired of Christians not standing by other believers just because we disagree with their LIBERAL politics. Either you love the brethren or you don’t. #quitstraddlingthefence

Hostin claims to be Catholic and Sherry Shepherd says she’s a Christian. The other female is Conservative, but from what little I’ve heard from her, I believe she’s a believer as well. She was the only one making sense, but of course they shouted her down and wouldn’t allow her to speak.

The other female as in Meghan Mccain ?

Must say though that I have been pleasantly surprised at Meghan Mccains relatively positive disposition towards the Trump admin especially given her Fathers antipathy towards all things Trump

That said I have always seen the View as little more than a Feminist Witches Coven and my attitude towards what they say basically sums up to "One shouldn't stop to throw stones at every dog that barks"

If Obama had said the same thing while in office or Hillary or any other liberal you would have had a whole different narrative. Just a bunch of hypocrites.

I'd just open up the NT and show where the apostles heard from Jesus, angels, visions, etc and see what they had to say about that. :)

I had no idea who she was because I never watch the show with the exception of a few glimpses while channel surfing. They grate on my nerves. Definitely a feminist witches coven...The brides of Satan for sure.

    Jude 1:17-18
    (17) But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
    (18) How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

    II Peter 3:3 (NASB)
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)
