    Beyond rational. I don't understand, but I guess it's biblical as part of the end times.

    Seems to me that this case is an example of a tactic that is common these days - claiming your adversary to be equivalent to something really evil based on a tiny bit of similarity. Playing the Hitler card, the Stalin card, the Bin Laden card, and now the ISIS card, are just some of the many examples. It's a strategy for avoiding a real discussion of differences.
