Seriously. I don't ever watch the View but there is plenty of information out there that lets us know what that show is all about. How in the world can you go there unprepared if you go at all? If I am not ready to stand boldly for the Lord when I go to a show like that then I simply won't go. If I do go you can bet I will have spent a couple of hours in God's presence as well as in His Word. I would be looking at it as an opportunity to hopefully snatch just one more soul from the damning lies of Satan. But I suppose we can't expect everyone to think as we do - or can we?

I guess not when they're more concerned about being 'relevant' rather than speaking the Truth in love boldly and unashamedly.

It was a long time ago, and and he corrected himself when he was confronted...my point is why is it that every time we have these kind of discussions, someone is always bringing up Joel or some other preacher that missed it?

Well I imagine in this case Joel was an example of another popular preacher who did the exact same thing. So it's not unusual to use other examples of preachers who have done the same thing as the subject being talked about. Colonel didn't bring up a preacher who 'missed it' in a totally different area. All of us do it on other subjects too, preacher and non preacher.

Joel is a known example of a megachurch pastor who has avoided giving clear answers to difficult or controversial questions and who tends to avoid certain themes in his sermons. There are other megachurches that are a bit like that but I'm sure not all are. So it's not that much of a broad brush. Just that there is a tendency and I think it has something to do with too much media attention.

I Asked Carl Lentz About His Response to The View's Abortion Question. Here's What He Said
Let's pray for the Hillsong pastor and encourage him rather than throw him under the bus.

By Michael Brown Published on November 9, 2017
    https://stream.org/carl-lentz-view-abortion/

After his appearance on The View on October 30, Carl Lentz, pastor of Hillsong Church in New York City, was blasted for what appeared to be a total cop-out answer on national TV....

...To be perfectly honest, if I didn’t know Pastor Lentz personally, my response would have been just as strong (and swift). It appeared that he dodged a very simple question, one that required a very simple answer.

Really now, is there any ambiguity when it comes to abortion? We’re talking about taking the life of a preborn child. What is unclear or uncertain about that?

I absolutely wish that Pastor Lentz had replied directly and said something like, “Of course abortion is sinful. If you recognize that it is a baby in the womb, then to slice it up or poison it or kill it in any way is wrong in God’s sight. But having an abortion is not an unforgivable sin, and there is hope for every woman who has aborted her child. Jesus died for that sin too and he offers forgiveness through the cross.”

What Lentz Said Before — And What Happened on The View

But because I have found Pastor Lentz to be both approachable and teachable, rather than comment on his interview first, I reached out to him directly....

This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity (futility) of their mind, having the understanding darkened...
    (Ephesians 4:17-18)

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...
    (Psalm 1)

Look, it's just another example of a Christian leader trying to be trendy, acceptable, and to fit in. He wants the world's approval of a message that will never have the world's approval. The reproach of the world is meant to be a blessing for a Christian. He just missed receiving a blessing.

I heard someone on the radio yesterday who didn't name names, but was railing on about that "type", "preachers who are trying to look like Bono".....
