You'd be surprised! I stopped wearing them after they became uncomfortable, about 10 years ago. Leggings are far more comfortable and offer better support. Plus; they're warmer in Winter.

I sort of agree with her about ministering from the pulpit bare legged. But that’s me. I wouldn’t do it. I believe women preachers should dress modestly while ministering. If only to keep the attention on the message and not on themselves. However, depending on the length of the dress or skirt, I wouldn’t have a problem with a sister being bare legged. I’d rather wear slacks though if it were too warm for leggings.

No, I say that to people who show up with nasty breathe, bad manners, etc. I've never said it to a female though.

I stopped wearing pantyhose years ago - I wear tights or leggings in the Fall and Winter, and as soon as the temps hit 70 or above, I go "bare-legged" to Church.

However, I wear skirts and dresses that are waaaay below my knees, so unless you looked real close, you wouldn't know whether I was wearing hose or not...

In the summertime, when I mostly wear sandals, it's pretty obvious.

I think most women don't wear pantyhose any more, because they wear yoga pants, slacks or jeans most of the time - Even "Church Women"

    Yep!

I just believe when a woman is ministering from the pulpit, her legs should be covered. Not for the sake of being legalistic, but for the appearance of propriety. As not to cause brothers that have “issues” to stumble.

I don't get that. Because panty hose make you legs look 'better' I think. I don't think I've seen a women wear them in years and I don't even think about it when I see it. Even from the pulpit. I would have probably never thought about it if not for this thread.

I think panty hose or stockings make ladies legs look better, but I don't wear dresses any more. I was in the bank one day and one of the employees left her desk. She was wearing a sleeveless dress with fancy flip flops. That just isn't business attire to me. I feel the same about the ladies on tv news programs. I don't care for sleeveless as business attire.

Val, I like your idea of leggings!

Do all these women who are bare legged wear footlets or something to protect their shoe insides? My experience with no panty hose was that your shoe liner came out first thing. Dd wears the footlets with good shoes.

I am so thankful that my precious wife always looked proper when we ministered at church. She would never do what the lady said in the video. Thank you Lord for a wife I can always say I had respect for her appearance.
