    Racism

We can have a mindset shift if we realize this simple equation....racism exists but RACES of people do not...

    racism
    NOUN
prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior:

    NOW Consider

    race
    NOUN
a competition between runners, horses, vehicles, boats, etc., to see which is the fastest in covering a set course:
"I won the first 50-lap race"
    synonyms: contest · competition · event · heat · trial(s)
a strong or rapid current flowing through a narrow channel in the sea or a river:
"angling for tuna in turbulent tidal races"
    synonyms: channel · waterway · millrace · raceway · conduit · sluice · chute · [more]
a groove, channel, or passage, in particular

How can someone be prejudice against something that does not exist?

If we are going to change future generations shouldn't we begin here?

Today there is a lot of hatred on cultural or religious grounds and it may be difficult to distinguish from purist racism. People may hate AAs or "whiteys" for cultural reasons but make exceptions on an individual level, for instance.

Not the point....the point is there are no RACES...that is where the conversation needs to START...

Once that is established the conversation of 'why some feel superior to others' can begin.

There are educated who feel superior to uneducated...their are wealthy that feel superior to the poor....there are religious who feel superior to the non-religious...
There are people who believe they are superior based on skin color pigmentation...there are the generous who feel superior to the greedy....

And NONE are more grievous or unique than the other...

Once the concept of 'race' is removed from the equation now we are left the hard core reality of fallen humanity and pride and self righteousness...

How can there be racism is there are no RACES of people? Isn't this just another false narrative invented by someone to isolate and divide for religious or political reasons?

Then there is cultural racism. For instance African Americans may shun other AAs that seem more white in terms of culture. Including who vote Republican or are religious without being "AA" about it. Just my feelings from watching discussions on this forum for over a decade.

Yeah, it's more nuanced than one would think.

I'm thinking that there are very few purist racists left today, people who genuinely believe that race is a determining factor of anything. But the same type of prejudices and hatred continue to exist among a lot of people just in slightly different forms.
