Go ahead TT, just this once
"Anti-Shack" Sounds like the prequel to the film!

The tone of his statement was troublesome. But, we do suffer the consequences of our actions even after we're forgiven (The law of sowing and reaping). God's Grace helps us get through them though.

I did not read the quote in context of consequences...the book and the movie put that conversation in the context of eternal damnation.
In fact in the book and the movie Papa stated to the affect there would be consequences...and in the book the guy was caught and sent to prison...
If he was about consequences of choices in this life, then again he misrepresents the author and the book...

H Val..I am reading Mr. Young's book and found this quote and remembered you mentioning this yesterday..
He says, "Love doesn't protect me from the consequences of my choices, but it also does not abandon me to them. Nor does God's presence in the midst of our stupidity justify any of it. God is opposed to anything that is not of Love's kind, but God is always for us in the middle of our mess."

Yes, I agree. That's why I added that God's grace is with us even when we suffer the consequences of our actions. Just because we're forgiven, doesn't mean there aren't consequences. Not only is that scriptural, we've all experienced it as well.

I was in the Christian Bookstore today and I saw The Shack Revisited book, which is apparently an "approved" theology-centric companion book by another author.
That should help clarify thoughts/questions on what the theology of The Shack really was about.
