I've never had any interest in reading the Shack.

isn't Roberts Liardon one of those gay preachers???
A few years back there was a lot of hubbub over him being in a gay relationship... what ever happened with that?
You're partly right, he repented from a short term gay relationship in 2002.

Yes, and was right back in the ministry 3 weeks later!
That's hardly the prescription the Word gives for restoring someone...I'm not going to be listening to anything he has to say.
He publicly brought shame upon the Lord Jesus Christ so he should never be in ministry again... if he truly repented and forsook his sin he can be back in fellowship with other believers, but not back to the ministry. Same goes for Swaggart, Bakker, and others than have brought public shame upon the Name of the Lord.
Stuff like this causes many in the world to think Christianity is a joke and not to be taken seriously... but many who claim to be Christians just follow along like sheeple, going right along with the herd unable to think for themselves.

I was searching for info on that earlier and numerous sources say it was 3 weeks...
He is no longer qualified to be in public ministry at all.

They probably exaggerate on purpose. The dates of the various Charisma articles demonstrate that it was 3 months.

Well, I won't be listening to him... not that I ever did before he had his gay fling thing.

It happened 15 years ago, if nothing happened since then I'd say things should be okay. He wasn't married and the situation is a bit different to when people are caught in adultery and simply go ahead and divorce and remarry after an obligatory period of "counselling".

It wasn't a one time incident, he did engage in the behavior for some time.
