Well the hair in the avatar isn't black, it's brown. Otherwise it could simply be that your Native American heritage shows and makes you appear not quite black. Catchy had a certain Native American look to her, she was almost 1/6 Native American. I jokingly referred to her as a "white squaw".

Watching people revealing their ancestry on youtube by doing the DNA test from Ancestry.com, many blacks stated that it's common among blacks to think they have native american in them because they have always been told that. They mention this when they see the results and have no native american in them at all, or less than 1 or 2%. Many of them are highly disappointed because they were told all their lives they had native american, even their parents telling them their grandmother of grandfather they didn't know had a lot of native american. One that had no native american even mentioned the 'high cheekbone' thing you did when they found out they didn't have any. :)
Not one video I saw of blacks had any native american in them. So based on this, take the test and I bet you don't have any either.

Not sure if you caught this thread Val, but this is what Fuego is referring to:

That's because my hair is colored smart guy. And you need your eyes checked. I look quite black.

Millions of black Americans in America and you conclude most don't have any Native American blood based on a few that don't? That dog won't hunt
I don't need a test. I've the seen photos of both my great-grandmothers, and it's a fact they both were part Native American (also noticeable in some of their children still living, one of whom just turned 100 a few months ago).

Assuming I don't know my heritage because of a few mistakes made by other blacks is to pre-judge based on the skimpy mistaken assumptions of others. Don't assume that every black person who claims to have Native American blood is mistaken just because a few are. That's called prejudice.
