Well if that's the case, why start with Orlando? Looks kinda random. Seems like SF would be a better place to start. :)

This is the age of grace, of the propagation of the gospel. God postpones judgment and calls people to repent instead.

Thank you, Colonel! I've been thinking the same thing now for a while. Every time I hear that the U.S. is suffering God's judgment, etc., I am reminded that we are all individuals and judgment is individual. It wearies me; it makes me think of works based salvation. There are many Godly believers who haven't sown to destruction and won't be reaping judgment in this life.

The devil is still the god of this world and seeks to steal, kill and destroy. But where God previously listened to the Accuser, he is now intent on issuing redemption through the gospel, based on Jesus' victory over the Accuser. Some of the voices that talk judgment every time something bad happens are gospel haters who would rather see God judge people than save them. Their minds and hearts are in the Old Testament and God will judge them as severely as those they themselves pronounce judgment on. They are self righteous and their righteousness is no better than that of the others.

Yes God calls all to repent but you won't find any scripture that says God postpones judgment in the age of grace.
You would have to be God to know if he has or hasn't judged people or nations the last 2000 years.

If God takes his hand off people then they can be judged by other means but it's still judgement.

Also the phrase 'age of grace' has been used to make statements by believers that God can only act a certain way but that phrase in itself is not used by any NT writer to say things that believers are wanting it to say.

I do agree Colonel that some believers are more interested in judgement than seeing the lost saved and they lack compassion

I didn't mean to imply that God cannot judge unbelievers in this life, only that his interest is elsewhere. He chooses to see the world through the lens of the gospel, for now. The main problem is when people read the OT and then transfer what they see there directly onto the modern world while thinking to themselves that they are "hardcore Bible believers".

My comments are not related to the youtube clip and I haven't listened to it.

I hope I have not misread you CS in making my following comments.
We agree that alot of things people say about judgement are wrong and God doesn't go around pointing his finger and killing people.

But we have to weigh up every scripture and it says....we reap what we sow which is on an individual basis but we cannot dismiss collective reaping of evil.
Was every German a Nazi when Dresden was firebombed or every Japanese a killer when Nagasaki and Hiroshima were bombed.

Innocent lives are killed by drug addicts and drunk drivers regularly and it even includes Christians.
There were Christians on board the planes that crashed in 911 and in the twin towers.

The Bible is clear that there is collective judgement and even national judgment and many innocent lives are lost in the process.

I totally accept there is a danger when believers shout God's judgment like chicken little did with the sky falling. Our major effort is to bring light to the darkness but we cant ignore that darkness is growing and laws are being changed to accommodate terrible sin.

My understanding of scripture is things will get worse...the Bible calls it GROSS DARKNESS but we have hope that the GLORY will also get greater.
