    A Time of Preparation

Lately I've been considering how the present time is a time of preparation for what is to come. I don't think most Christians are aware of that (if I'm right). It seems most Christians are content to go along as if everything is fine and tomorrow will be just like today. In short, they're not preparing for the coming hard times. They're like the virgins who are burning their oil now, when they should be trimming their lamps with the expectation of the coming bridegroom. Even if the Lord is not returning soon, this is still a time of preparation, not partying. Hard times will come to Christians very soon, no matter what God's timetable says about Christ's return.

Everyday we see the clues, but if we mention them, we sound like conspiracy theorists. And yet all we see going on right now--the sanctioning of sexual immorality (pedophilia and bestiality next), transgenderism, gay marriage, the acceptance of Islam, the legalization of drugs, even immigration...is all of a piece. It's all tied together and should be seen by Christians as a warning to be prepared to be hated for their faith.

Christians need to prepare in several ways: spiritually, economically (including having access to food and water supplies), and health-wise too. And woe unto those who are not in a church with members committed to one another. In fact, churches, too, should be preparing for what's ahead. And yes, part of that preparation is to proclaim the gospel and be willing to take people in as need be. On one of the FB groups I belong to, there's a young man who is about to be homeless--and yet he belongs to a church. How can this be? Will no one take him in? Apparently not. That has to change. That's part of churches preparing for the times ahead.

I'm thinking of writing something book-length on this, but I'm trying to figure out how to do it without sounding like just another grumpy old curmudgeon or a conspiracy theorist.

Oh, I think what will be coming against Christians will be world-wide, but my burden is to awake American Christians to the coming hard times.

I so agree with you, Nick. There are many in for a rude awakening and I pray I'm not one of them!!!
