That sounds like moral qualms more than anything else. Got any Japanese sources for this ?

Are you kidding me?!? You mean the Japanese didn't target Chinese civilians? Or the Germans didn't firebomb London, targeting civlians? Yet in these discussions, the despicable, "targeting of civilians" by Japan or Germany is literally never mentioned, only that the US dropped the atomic bomb. Tell us tom, was the US just a cold-hearted, blood thirsty, out of control, "empire", hell-bent on occupying Japan or something? I mean.....good grief.
Do you know what kind of hand-to-hand combat was occurring in the South Pacific during WWII, tom? Do you know the Japanese would literally rip men's eyeballs out of their heads and torture them, etc.....????
Good grief tom, we lost so many men in WWII, and now the new progressive narrative is that Japan was about to surrender.....just....wow. I am not familiar with this, "source", but if you honestly think we are just gonna buy this new narrative that makes the US out to be the worst villian in the history of "empire expansion" from one source, I'm just not buying it.

I think a common denominator of liberal historical revisionism is that there should be no good and evil, no forces intent on good yet making mistakes and no forces truly intent on destruction. They seek to reduce everything to an evolutionistic soup where everyone acts based on own interest and on deeper factors like economy, the need for expansion etc. Dont let yourself be duped by this permeating spirit, Tom.

No, it's a matter of misplaced emphasis. I literally have never, ONCE, EVER, heard any progressive speak as if Japan had any evil intent. Again, we are talking about misplaced emphasis.
Knowing how badly the war scarred my grandfather and the fact that he witnessed unspeakable horrors wrought by Japanese suicide bombers, NO DIFFERENT THAN IS OR AL QUEDA, it sickens me to no end to hear revisionist tales, making the US the bad guy. Hey, guess what Tom? Maybe if Japan hadn't bombed pearl harbor in the first place, or slaughtered millions of Chinese civilians, fate would not have been so cruel.
