This is a matter of actuality, the presence of the Holy Spirit seals us for redemption. God is the one who judges in the end, including about whether or not he can find his Son in the person.
    Well said..

Christians, born again, are not left to their own devices to determine truth...the Holy Spirit has been given to lead and guide us into all truth...along with the BIBLE. whether we follow HIM or not will ultimately determine whether we retain our faith in Jesus or turn away. Between the Holy Spirit and the Bible we won't have any excuse when we stand at the judgment.

Teachings in cults blend lies and deceptions that gradually lead people deeper and deeper into deception...take Jeff for a good example...I am not saying he is not saved but the more of the lies he embraces the further he gets from faith in the true and Living and unchanging God. It is possible to get to the point that the Jesus we profess is not even the real one any more.

You CANNOT be saved unless your spirit experiences HOLY SPIRIT regeneration.

The Holy Spirit will never confirm and endorse a false gospel and false Jesus even if all the words they use are the same.

The Catholics have a lot of junk in their doctrines but when they say Jesus ...it is the Jesus of the NT and the eternal doctrine of the son of God. This is the difference between a Christian based religion compared to Mormonism or Jehovahs Witnesses

If a Catholic on his death bed calls out to Jesus he will be saved.

If a Mormon on his death bed calls out to Jesus he will not be saved because the Jesus they are speaking to is the brother of Lucifer and not the eternal son of God.

If a Mormon has heard the evangelical gospel and on his death bed calls on Jesus but in his heart he is referring to the Jesus he heard from Christians then I believe he will be saved

I know, I've been watching that for a while. It's tragic.

But ... he's a great example. Regardless of what he professes now or in the future (and assuming that he ever had a saving encounter with the Lord, which I believe he did), is he still saved? Will he still go to Heaven?

I believe, as I said above, that someone can eventually fade into such deception that their faith is no longer in the reality of Jesus' saving grace..at that point they are, IMHO, at risk of being lost. Faith does not save us but faith embraces the ONE that does...if that faith embraces something else...that can hold eternal consequences.

Paul expressed great concern for Christians who shifted their faith from Jesus back to faith in the LAW for salvation...

Still not so sure that most Christians would be able to follow the part about accepting Immanuel.

Of course. Some universalists keep that belief to themselves. Some become aggressive preachers of the doctrine, to both Christians and non-Christians, constructing the whole gospel around that as a core belief. And that is very dangerous and eroding, including to one's own faith.

Universalism is a tempting religious concept especially in our current climate of all things called sin and all correction being viewed as 'hate speech'. People know someone who died without Christ obviously and they cannot accept that that really good person they loved went to Hell... and that's the point here, that as we decide to believe what we believe our hearts motives can lead us astray and we find we are have literally chosen something other than Christ and truth..but not come face to face with that mirror until it's too late to change. That is why He warns us to humble ourselves and seek HIS face...this says humble yourself and become willing to KNOW ME as I AM and to still love Me. With religions, people choose to not accept who God IS and try to redefine Him as they want Him to be..
