    It's modern.

I've heard of ministers who demanded that people put their credit cards into a heap at the front. Not sure if that was supposed to mean that the minister got to empty the card completely or not. Does anyone know ?

Never heard of that. I'd refrain for sure.

I don't know that anyone has a problem with credit cards being used for ministry, other than the fact that God has told us not to get into debt. If it's a debit card, then by all means I think that's fine to have for ministry.

I think what the title is really saying is, "how ridiculous to have stipulated you have to give a specific large amount of money; you may need to use a credit card to pay it"

This reminds me of the priests carrying our sin offering to the Lord.

The veil has been TORN....we no longer need to give ANYONE money to bring us healing/deliverance/grace, etc. God gives this to us freely.

What Lista said. Asking for x amount for a special what ever sounds falls under what I call "charismatic hucksterism". Stating one's opinion is not bashing.

As to using credit cards with ministries, that is what I use when buying their materials online. I don't have a problem with it myself. Giving by cc could be a problem for someone who uses it unwisely.

It's not really about the credit card, it's about what it's being used for, the "Easter Sunday deliverance from a spiritual death sentence for a $1,144 "resurrection seed" she says was set by God". It's the 'hucksterism.'

    That's hilarious!

I'd like to be in a service like that... and the usher come by asking for my credit card.

It'd rebuke the devil and he'd move on down the line.

What are they going to do, mug ya?
