sad.
Good point Lisa. I am pained by ALL suffering, whether it is among young lady kidnapped and prostituted, whether it is my African ancestors, whether it is children who are kidnapped and molested by pedophiles, and all of it.
What we all need is to be sensitive to the pain that others are feeling instead of being bitter and cold. If African Americans are still feeling the pinch of racism then we should have love and sympathy and help towards the healing. This "get over it" attitude stinks to high heaven. Personally I am over it but I still have to minister among people who are still hurting. On the other hand I still have love and sympathy for my Jewish friends who are still feeling the anti-semitism from the Holocaust up even thru this very day. I ache for the young ladies sold into prostitution. As a born again Christian, I am not concerned for only myself and my "race" but for all people everywhere that are hurting and suffering.
I realize that Blacks abuse the civil rights agenda and I am embarrassed by some of that. Yet, I have experienced being pulled over for driving because I am Black. Just recently that happened to me. Was pulled over because the policeman swore I was a drug runner from New York. I wonder why? While I easily forgive and forget such things, this is the stuff that causes pain to many others.
I really think that people should either be quiet if all they want to do is prove themselves right and another wrong. If I cannot have sympathy for another's plight then I will just keep my mouth shut.

As long as there are people there will be pain and suffering. it's disgusting really. Of course, we already know who will be the last group persecuted and killed. (thoughts like this make me earnestly believe in pre-trib theology )

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
1 Corinthians 10:12-13 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind.
We have all been prejudged, unfairly stereotyped and subject to unfair treatment. We have all also been tempted to respond with bitterness, malice and unfounded grudges, a path to destruction.
The remedy:
He who is in us has given us the ability to overcome.

I HATE it when folk compare other forms of slavery or indentured servitude to America's Enslavement of Africans. It's the same as the LGBTs comparing so called homosexual discrimination to that of black Americans being denied Civil Rights, and the attempts of destruction of the black race.
Please do the research into American Slavery and know there is NO institution that comes even close with the exception of what was done to the Jews by Hitler & his henchmen.
I have done the research ... But here's a nice summary: http://www.globalresearch.ca/the-iri...e-slaves/31076 Loaded like sardines in the bottoms of filthy, diseased, vermin-infested ships for months at a time. But keep telling me how your ancestors suffered more than mine.
It's nonsense, all of it and all sides, to keep claiming "it is the way it is because ____ generations ago" ... That's called "abdicating responsibility".
Our lesson today is to never, ever allow such to happen again, not only in our lifetimes but to ensure we leave a legacy of human rights to our children and grandchildren.
The last ten words of your post ARE true to an extent - though there are other modern atrocities that are of equal evil and even greater death toll.
