Joe six-pak doesn't always know what he is clapping for ;) Collective behaviour responses are kinda spontaneous and habit driven - all kinds of folk can be in the audience.

    I agree with Jonathan.

I think people in an audience are often observing for 'entertainment' value. I would guess a lot were there for a PLAY and not a worship service. No doubt they observed this from that perspective and did not regard 'Silent Night' in a jazz dance style as sacrilegious. But as an artistic rendering of a Christmas song. Some may not have seen that rendering as sacrilegious.

I would have been uncomfortable with the costumes, and dancing regardless of the context.

Kinda dovetailing into the David Bowie news/discussion...

I didn't know this till a couple a days ago, but he recited the Lord's Prayer at a tribute to Freddie Mercury in 1992, after Mercury succumbed to AIDS the year prior. I don't think DB was any type of Christian (then) but was moved to pray at that concert...at first I thought he was doing it for dramatic effect or artistic/performance reasons (given the occasion), but I think, after watching the video, he meant it (at that time)..now whatever his relationship with God was afterward, and at the time of his death, I dunno...here's the link for context--

(hopefully this doesn't derail this thread)

See there ya go. TT has the discernment to give my avatar an insightful "positive" rendering - a guerilla soldier of Christ with the sword of the Spirit - - as opposed to "how can you dress up as an evil Japanese assassin?"

Well there are always other tweets on a twitter account. Care to specifically point out what you are referring to without having to real all those tweets? :)
