that whole family has been thru the fire in recent years, I sorta feel for them.
It's in Los Angeles I think ... It's certainly is a younger hipster type church ... I visited Jentzen Franklin's in the LA area a few years and it was sort of like a rocker's church. But then you can go across town to a big Cogic or PAW church and they dress traditional.

I posted a comment on the Charisma article:
It's blue jeans people. Don't have a cow. I haven't gone to a church where the ministers dress up in years. It really ain't a big deal. Major on the majors, don't major on the minors, or less than minors like this is. :)
I go to /visit a mixture of churches. Some churches require me to wear a suit and tie. I get tired of dressing up sometimes but for the most part, I grew up doing it so I can comply. Other churches I can minister in jeans and sometimes it can be relaxing.

It sounds out of character for Jakes because he is usually such a spiffy dresser, but who cares? The worst I've seen in church have been the two people (not together) who were wearing shorts that were way too short for church.
Not a fan of torn jeans.

Tricky actually because even though what's inside is more important sometimes the outside reflects what's inside.
Also it's sometimes relative; what may be daggy for you may be "Sunday Best" for me.
But our church has put on "dinners" and I've seen people come to them a lot more dressed up then when they come to worship God. Perhaps my upbringing but I wonder.

I don't care what preachers or Christians wear as long as it's modest. The irony is that if people were truly seeking Christ they could care less what the messenger is wearing so dressing to impress be it jeans, shorts or a three piece suit or robe...the intent is the concern..so why would a preacher feel the need to 'fit in' style wise? I say, just be yourself.
