25 days of diesel fuel left

If we run out of diesel fuel, the result on our supply chain would be catastrophic.

How is this playing out so far? It's been 25 days....

Believe it or not, we can't get lettuce and if it magically appears, it's about 5-6$$$ a head...
Iceberg and Romane lettuce ... Crazy.

There is a good amount of price gouging going on. Yesterday went shopping (multiple stores), Publix lettuce $4-5 dollars, Walmart lettuce $2 dollars.

Publix jumbo eggs - 5 bucks
Walmart jumbo eggs - 3 bucks

Those a are very wide spreads for commodity items.

I did buy a whole turkey at Publix for 6 bucks ..

But, I wasn't going to give back the turkey savings on eggs, lettuce and milk (all predatorily priced), I bought those items at Walmart.

Trucks are still running, no diesel rationing that I know of...

And yes, there is price gouging on certain items. I'm pretty much to the point where I can skip buying an item if it's outrageously priced at the store. When butter got up to $6/pound I passed until it came back down at my local ALDI to $2.49/pound. Crazy days we live in!

My brother's meat market is supplied twice a week with semi-trucked shipments and no big markups or talk of getting thin on diesel supplies. Expensive?? Yes, ridiculously so.

Yep, pretty much same here. I keep 4 stores in rotation (all within a few miles) and price shop, I think I'm actually paying less than I ever have just taking advantage of BOGOs and other specials. I'm a bit of a grocery nut though, it was my first job so I know most of their tricks.
