Thread: Why I got the vaccine

    Why I got the vaccine

    The answer is simple,
I got the vaccination because of my christian ethics
Working as nurse, caregiver and missionary under people with mental and other health issues I feel responsible for doing as little harm as possible. I do - as far as I can help- not want to spread anything to these persons and make them suffer.

My decision has much more to do with others than we myself.

And then my credo as nurse comes it: it is better to prevent then to treat
That is -for example- why I wear a seltbelt when driving without suffering the loss of freedom.

So implying that those of us that didn't don't have any Christian ethics. Got it.

??? How did you get that?
I just wanted to express why I did myself get vaccinated, just like the other thread about why not getting it.
I am not implyng anything on others.
Sorry, I did not want to offend anybody.

Maybe that wasn't your intention, but the moment you say it was because of Christian ethics, then it implies that a person that didn't get it has no Christian ethics. It's just the logical conclusion. If you had left out that one line, then the post is a 'good' one, showing your motives. But then again it could imply that a nurse that doesn't have the vaccine doesn't care about others.

Early on a lot of people got the vaccine for the same reason as you, to help protect others. But as we now know the vaccinated still get it and do spread it, the only benefit might be a lessening symptoms for you yourself.

I was recently talking to a friend of mine who is involved in car shows, her and her sister got the original shots just for that reason only, because they thought they were protecting others. But now that more facts have come out they would have not gotten them and are absolutely not getting any boosters. They are now also concerned that it may have affected their immune systems because when one got a cold she broke out in boils and when the other one caught it strange rashes developed.

I am sorry for causing some missunderstanding.
When I was thinking about this issue I realized that being a christian for decades has influenced my ethics.
Today i make decisions differently then 50 years ago. Looking back on worldly decisions I am now more driven by christian "rules"
Not a moment I was comparing my thoughts to what other people here believe and do.
    It really was about myself.
If any moderator thinks I am offence please delete the thread.

Just one little thought: How bad do you think about me?

Fuego and Firebrand, now you know how I feel every time a non vaxer talks about how the vaxers are terrified of getting it, AJ keeps referring to cognitive dissonance, we all fall in with the government, etc. Every time I have mentioned such stuff, someone says "Well I respect those who choose to take the vaccine." Right...

Susan, thank you for your kind words in that earlier post.

When I mentioned that I had covid at the same time fuego had it recently, fuego is the only one who even acknowledged my post. Everyone was heaping concern on him and no one even said a word to me. All in the same thread.

I suppose you may think I'm being petty but the above is how you make me feel.

Wow...totally did not see your post Curly. Matter fact I had to search through your past posts to find it. Hopefully you and Mr C. are over it now. I posted in the other thread and asked a few questions if you could answer them there. Thanks
